Ainsi, tout le village est entouré d'un mur d'enceinte de 450 m de long et de 1,5 m de large avec deux tours défensives. La tour de guet ronde est également fortifiée. En 1902, l'Égyptien Martin Riano d'Hutzt rachète le château et engage l'architecte Charles Arendt pour le restaurer, des rénovations qui s'arrêtent en 1907. Le service Sites & Monuments Nationaux lance des fouilles archéologiques dans les années 1980. En 2005, l'État luxembourgeois devient propriétaire des lieux, relance les travaux de restauration, et le château devient monument national en 2006. La maison est dans un état où des gros travaux de rénovation sont encore à prévoir, tout en respectant les consignes du Sites et Monuments pour réaliser une rénovation conforme pour garder le respect envers des anciens murs historiques. Der runde Wachturm wurde ebenfalls befestigt. 1902 kaufte der Ägypter Martin Riano d'Hutzt das Schloss und beauftragte den Architekten Charles Arendt mit der Restaurierung des Schlosses, die 1907 eingestellt wurde. Die Abteilung Sites & Monuments Nationaux beginnt in den 1980er Jahren mit archäologischen Ausgrabungen. Im Jahr 2005 wird der luxemburgische Staat Eigentümer des Geländes, nimmt die Restaurierungsarbeiten wieder auf und das Schloss wird 2006 zum Nationaldenkmal erklärt. Das Haus ist in einem Zustand, in dem noch umfangreiche Renovierungsarbeiten anstehen, wobei die Richtlinien des Sites et Monuments eingehalten werden müssen, um eine konforme Renovierung durchzuführen, die den Respekt vor den alten historischen Mauern bewahrt.
