Junglinster : Peace and quiet a few kilometres from the capital

Escape from the capital while staying close by

Located in the canton of Grevenmacher, to the north-east of Luxembourg City, Junglinster is the most populous commune in the eastern district and the third largest in the country. It offers an ideal living environment for families who wish to combine the benefits of the countryside with proximity to the capital.

In recent years, the municipality has become a real regional development centre. Junglinster has experienced continuous population growth since the year 2000. Its location, only 15km from the capital and in the heart of unspoilt nature, makes it particularly attractive to people wishing to escape the frenzy of the big city. Among the residents, one can count expatriates who are particularly attracted to the town. There are no fewer than 80 different nationalities.

The municipality also meets the needs of families in terms of school infrastructure. In fact, Junglinster has three school centres in the towns of Bourglinster, Gonderange and Junglinster (Cycles 1-4 and early years) as well as a high school in the town of Junglinster. Children are looked after in the various nurseries in the area.

As far as transport is concerned, everything is provided for residents. The municipality is served by the City Bus, as well as by the RGTR bus lines that run through the various localities. This makes it easy to get around the municipality.

The municipality is also well equipped in terms of sport. In 2021, the brand new Junglinster sports centre was opened. A sports centre with a harmonious architecture that blends in naturally with its surroundings.

In this place, which will delight sports enthusiasts, you will find: four tennis courts, a climbing area, a multifunctional room and a cafeteria for well-deserved breaks. Op Fréinen also has an infirmary, a mezzanine with bleachers, changing rooms and technical rooms.

The choice of building materials used in the construction of the site is evidence of the municipality's interest in environmental issues. Indeed, the building meets the criteria required by the latter such as sustainability, energy saving, costs, ecological standards and health.

The "AM Duerf" cultural centre and the "Gaston Stein" multi-purpose hall also complete the cultural offer.

Finally, doctors, pharmacies, administrations, banks, shops, craftsmen... Junglinster has a wide range of shops and services to meet all the needs of its inhabitants.

The Mullerthal region is only a few kilometres away for experienced hikers. The Mullerthal region is characterised by its many rocky hills, which have earned it its nickname, and is a delight for hikers, nature lovers and history buffs.
