Redange: a bucolic & natural setting

The municipality with its unique natural surroundings consists of the towns of Lannen, Nagem, Niederpallen, Ospern, Redange, Reichlange and Eltz.

Some key figures

Surface area: 31.95 km².
Population: 2,910
Density: 91 inhabitants/km².

The municipality with many assets

Thanks to its many assets, property prices are gradually rising but are still affordable for the western region. Building projects are therefore following one another, while trying to preserve the cultivation space that supports the farmers of the commune.

The commune of Redange/Attert is located in the west of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, straddling the two natural regions of Luxembourg: the Oesling, an extension of the Ardennes, and the Gutland, the limit of the Paris sedimentary basin.

A few steps away from Redange, you will find the first nature park in the Province of Luxembourg. Well known by walkers, the park of the Attert valley seduces by its bucolic character composed of varied landscapes, fauna and flora. Day-trippers also flock here for its nature as well as for the huge aquatic complex in Redange, which recently benefited from a new investment. But the municipality in the heart of the valley does not only attract holidaymakers. The population has been growing steadily for the past thirty years.

An administrative and sports centre

It must be said that Redange, the administrative seat of the canton of the same name, has many assets to attract new inhabitants, particularly families. Redange offers its inhabitants a halfway house with a capacity of 220 places, a primary school and a high school with 1200 pupils. The town also has everything you need in the area of health: a medical centre with ten doctors and a pharmacy. Redange is a community that remains dynamic thanks to its many shops. Redange is also home to 40 sports clubs, from handball and football to table tennis and swimming.

A municipality with good transport links. In order to guarantee the attractiveness of the municipality, the presence of various mobility solutions in the municipality is also imperative. Redange does not have a railway station, but it does have a bus station with a fairly high frequency of service, particularly to Luxembourg City. As a rural municipality, Redange also has a dense network of cycle paths. These are used by both locals and tourists.

The commune to be protected

Redange's living environment is very attractive. Located in a green setting, where forests and countryside offer magnificent landscapes that change with the seasons and the light, and much appreciated opportunities for nature walks, far from the urban frenzy.

The municipality is well aware of the luxury it has at its disposal and takes care of its nature. For many years now, Redange has placed great importance on protecting its environment. It does not hesitate to promote the use of green energy and other alternatives. Redange is known beyond its borders for having created the first biomethanisation installation, which supplies part of the municipal buildings. The municipality has also opted for pellet heating and is actively working to improve the insulation of all its buildings.
