Every effort is made to preserve and enhance the quality of life offered to every resident. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The municipality of Kehlen is located in the south-west of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and is made up of six towns, namely Dondelange, Kehlen, Keispelt, Meispelt, Nospelt and Olm. Situated at the gateway to Luxembourg City and only a dozen kilometres from the Belgian border, Kehlen is ideally located. \"&nbsp;<em>We are close to the capital, its employment opportunities and all its amenities, and at the same time we live in a privileged environment, surrounded by forests and fields&nbsp;<\/em>\"says the mayor, Felix Eischen.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This pleasant living environment makes Kehlen and its surroundings very attractive. Like the country as a whole, the area has experienced relatively strong population growth in recent years. Today, there are almost 6,000 inhabitants in the area, compared to 4,000 in the early 1990s and 5,000 twenty years later.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Building housing, respecting village and rural architecture<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">As is the case throughout the area surrounding Luxembourg City, land and housing are selling at a premium within the municipality. \"&nbsp;<em>With such prices, we run the risk of losing our young generation, the ones who bring dynamism and life to a community,<\/em> says Felix Eischen. <em>This is why we try to<\/em><em> facilitate access to housing. In this respect, we support the development of the <\/em><em>Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Nationale des Habitations \u00e0 Bon March\u00e9 (S<\/em><em>NHBM). Located between Olm and Capellen, this neighbourhood of 800 homes is to be built over the next fifteen years. Work has just begun. Houses and flats will be sold at between 20 and 25 % below the market price. <\/em>\"<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.athome.lu\/blog\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/kehlen3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.athome.lu\/blog\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/kehlen3-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Accommodation in Kehlen\" class=\"wp-image-11791\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.athome.lu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/kehlen3-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.athome.lu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/kehlen3-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.athome.lu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/kehlen3-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.athome.lu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/kehlen3-18x12.jpg 18w, https:\/\/www.athome.lu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/kehlen3.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Other housing developments, including a mix of properties to meet the needs of families but also of single people, couples and single-parent families, have also been built or are about to be built in Keispelt, Nospelt and Kehlen.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Kehlen makes it a point of honour to preserve the architectural identity of every new building or large-scale renovation in the municipality. \"\u00a0<em>Originally rural, our commune has long lived from agriculture,<\/em> says Felix Eischen. <em>We believe it is essential to preserve this heritage if possible. While we are aware that it is not possible to preserve every old building, it seems obvious to us to ensure that new developments fit harmoniously into this environment. \u00a0<\/em>\"<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<section id=\"section-3-14695\" class=\"ct-section\" ><div class=\"ct-section-inner-wrap\"><div id=\"div_block-4-14695\" class=\"ct-div-block\" ><div id=\"new_columns-7-14695\" class=\"ct-new-columns\" ><div id=\"div_block-8-14695\" class=\"ct-div-block\" ><div id=\"div_block-14-14695\" class=\"ct-div-block\" ><\/div><\/div><div id=\"div_block-9-14695\" class=\"ct-div-block\" ><h1 id=\"headline-11-14695\" class=\"ct-headline\">What are the property prices at the moment?<\/h1><div id=\"text_block-12-14695\" class=\"ct-text-block\" >Prices are slowing down. The area has good road and public transport links. It is also close to the motorway network and the railway stations of Capellen and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.athome.lu\/blog\/blog\/mamer-la-commune-aux-1000-atouts\/\">Mamer,<\/a> both located only five kilometres away. At the same time, soft mobility is encouraged in the development of all new projects.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.athome.lu\/blog\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/kehlen2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.athome.lu\/blog\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/kehlen2-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Transport to Kehlen\" class=\"wp-image-11792\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.athome.lu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/kehlen2-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.athome.lu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/kehlen2-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.athome.lu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/kehlen2-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.athome.lu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/kehlen2-18x12.jpg 18w, https:\/\/www.athome.lu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/kehlen2.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\" <em>The only drawback is that the location of our municipality, the population growth we are experiencing and the increasing attractiveness of our business park (with around 1,500 workers every day) mean that our municipality is exposed to a lot of road traffic, especially in the centre of Olm, Kehlen and Keispelt, <\/em>says Felix Eischen. <em>A request for a bypass and a new link between the ZA and the CR 102, between Kehlen and Mamer, are underway. We hope to see these projects move forward very soon.&nbsp;<\/em>\"<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Modern facilities for young people<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">To keep up with its growing population, the municipality is also investing heavily in the development of new infrastructure and the maintenance of existing facilities.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It is based on a real campus in Kehlen, with primary school buildings, a sports hall accessible to schoolchildren but also to all other residents of the municipality, playgrounds, multi-sports fields and football pitches, whose changing rooms will soon be renovated. Pre-school education is provided in Spillschoul in Kehlen, while early education is provided in Olm.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.athome.lu\/blog\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/kehlen1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.athome.lu\/blog\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/kehlen1-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"School in Kehlen\" class=\"wp-image-11793\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.athome.lu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/kehlen1-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.athome.lu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/kehlen1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.athome.lu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/kehlen1-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.athome.lu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/kehlen1-18x12.jpg 18w, https:\/\/www.athome.lu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/kehlen1.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Families can also count on a cr\u00e8che in Keispelt and two halfway houses to welcome their children outside school hours. As for teenagers, many of them meet in the youth centre, which will soon have a second branch in Olm. \"&nbsp;<em>The Elmen project also includes the construction of a new basic school with 24 classrooms, an investment of some 30 million euros.
