They must also give notice. How do you go about leaving your rented property? Can you give notice by sending an e-mail to your landlord?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How much notice do I have to give?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The first thing to remember is that, in most cases, the period of notice for a rented property is the length of the lease.&nbsp;<strong>vacuum<\/strong>&nbsp;is 3 months (except&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.immoregion.fr\/blog\/location-quel-delai-de-preavis\/\">exceptional cases<\/a>). For a furnished flat, this is 1 month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another important point to know: the&nbsp;<strong>period of notice<\/strong>&nbsp;begins on the day the termination letter is received by the landlord. Not the day it is sent by the tenant.<br>For example, if the landlord receives the letter on 30 March, the lease will end on 30 June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, for the lease termination to be valid, there are still a few rules to be observed when sending the letter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Can I send my notice by e-mail?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Terminate the lease by&nbsp;<strong>e-mail is not valid<\/strong>. And that's even if the landlord gives you his agreement by return e-mail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You should therefore never use this method to cancel your rental contract. If you do, your application will be cancelled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To give notice to your landlord, you must send a letter by&nbsp;<strong>registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt<\/strong>hand in your&nbsp;<strong>hand-delivered letter<\/strong>&nbsp;against a signature or receipt, or notify your departure by&nbsp;<strong>bailiff's deed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As you will have realised, a simple e-mail is not enough to give notice to the landlord or estate agent.
