The goal is to really feel comfortable in your new \"life\".<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">But how do you go about discovering your new neighbourhood? Follow our advice:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Beating the pavement<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">There's no better way to discover a new neighbourhood than to put on your trainers and hit the pavement. Take a stroll through the streets to discover the architecture, the narrow streets and alleys, and even the riverside walks.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Do it on a Saturday to get a real neighbourhood feel. Also try cycling if you can, you'll cover more distance that way.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Ask your neighbours<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">When you see your neighbours, take the opportunity to ask them for advice. They will probably be only too happy to tell you about their favourite restaurant or grocery store. Word of mouth recommendations are always the best, so don't be shy and ask!<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Pay attention to posters<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">How many times have you walked without looking at the billboards or walls that are covered with posters? Keep your eyes open and pay attention to the advertisements in your city. You might find the perfect pilates class around the corner, or a film festival in the local cinema.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Ask your estate agent<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Knowing the area is also part of their skill set, so ask them for more information. Some real estate agents may even live locally, or at least spend a large percentage of their time in the areas they represent.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Think about the essentials<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Find the nearest hospital, doctor, police station, vet and pharmacy on call. There is something reassuring and comfortable about knowing where to go if you need emergency medical attention, or for any other problem.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Use the Internet<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Check forums, local blogs, social networks, local news sites, to find as much information and advice as possible.
