This practice is called homejacking. In some cases, these robberies can be violent, especially if the thief is surprised by the owner.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Our advice: always lock your door, even during the day. This will prevent burglars from entering your home if you are in your garden or on your terrace.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Beware of social networks<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">You are happy to be going on holiday and tell your friends on social networks... be careful. Social networks are a mine of useful information for burglars who can find your contact details, information about your next holiday...<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Our advice: protect your information by creating a private profile and avoiding making your details available to everyone.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Be careful with roof windows<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Some burglars do not hesitate to enter the house through roof windows, and it is often made easier for them by leaving these windows open.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Our advice: remember to close your roof windows when you are away and fit them with a security system to prevent them from opening.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<section id=\"section-3-14695\" class=\"ct-section\" ><div class=\"ct-section-inner-wrap\"><div id=\"div_block-4-14695\" class=\"ct-div-block\" ><div id=\"new_columns-7-14695\" class=\"ct-new-columns\" ><div id=\"div_block-8-14695\" class=\"ct-div-block\" ><div id=\"div_block-14-14695\" class=\"ct-div-block\" ><\/div><\/div><div id=\"div_block-9-14695\" class=\"ct-div-block\" ><h1 id=\"headline-11-14695\" class=\"ct-headline\">What are the property prices at the moment?<\/h1><div id=\"text_block-12-14695\" class=\"ct-text-block\" >Prices are slowing down. Again, the theft can become violent if the owner wakes up and surprises the burglars.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Our advice: remember to close your windows and lock your front door before going to bed. Do not leave your car keys and handbag in the entrance of your home.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Protect your PVC windows <\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Another technique used by thieves is to melt PVC door or window frames with a blowtorch, thus opening the windows very quickly.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The solution: If you have PVC windows, the safest thing to do is to close your shutters when you are away. If you have to change your windows, opt for aluminium frames.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Pre-burglary scouting<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Burglars often scout before they move on to the theft stage. They find out what time you leave in the morning and what time you return in the evening, for example.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Our advice: install an alarm system with video surveillance. Burglars are quickly put off by such equipment.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Protect your front door<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Most burglars enter through the front door.
