Le village est surtout connu pour son ascendance romaine. La colonie gallo-romaine «Vicus Ricciacus» près de l’actuelle Dalheim se trouvait sur l’importante voie de communication reliant la Méditerranée au Rhin et comprenait plusieurs temples et thermes. Le point culminant des réalisations archéologiques a été la découverte en 1985 d’un théâtre d’une capacité de 3.500 à 4.000 spectateurs. Le caractère romain du site est aujourd’hui rappelé par un obélisque surmonté d’un aigle romain sur le plateau surplombant le village. L’association «Ricciacus Frënn» organise en outre des visites guidées du théâtre gallo-romain et du vicus les week-ends d’été. Dans Dalheim, on trouve quelques restaurants et petits commerces.
