For a room that makes you dream

We spend most of our time in the bedroom with our eyes closed and lying down. But this should not prevent us from making it a pleasant, friendly, soothing place... A real dream room.

The bedroom, for young and old alike, is primarily a place to recuperate. But it is also a room that must correspond to the personality of its occupants. So, depending on the character of each person, it can be extremely sober or even more fanciful. If we spend a third of our time in bed, the bedroom is not just for sleeping. You read, you relax, you try on the clothes you will wear in the evening, you cuddle. But it is true that, above all, we abandon ourselves to the arms of Morpheus. It is therefore important for everyone to be able to create a room that makes you dream.

Around the bed

As with the rest of the house, the furnishings and decorations should not be neglected. Unlike the other rooms, it is one of the few that no one, apart from the occupants, will have the opportunity to see. It is a private, personal place. It is therefore up to those who live there to furnish it, personally, to decorate it. It is around the bed, the central element of the room, that the bedroom will be designed and built. It is according to one's tastes that one will choose the bed as well as all the furnishings and decoration. Next to the bed, you will have to think about the wardrobe, the night tables and a possible make-up area for the lady. The colours and styles, from the most classic to the most modern, are numerous. As are the materials used for the furnishings (wood, metal, stone). Depending on the space available, there are many possibilities to choose from. It is up to each person to decide according to their expectations, but above all their desires.

In the midst of the many manufacturers' offerings, you will have to find the world that best suits you. But before rushing to the shops or websites, arm yourself with a measuring tape and take the measurements. Once the location of the bed has been determined, with the right orientation, you can place the other furniture that makes up a bedroom worthy of the name. The doors or drawers of a wardrobe or a chest of drawers will need the space to open them. If you are short of space, there are many ways to save space. For example, small shelves above the bed can replace night tables. But be careful with the head. Make sure they are placed high enough. A small armchair in a corner of the room is never useless. For example, it can be used to collect clothes at the end of the day. With the right lighting, it can also be a nice place to read a book.

No limits to the imagination

Once the room is furnished, all you have to do is decorate it with the right accessories: bedside lamps, jewellery holders, mirrors, a few photos, a picture. There is no need to overload the room, choose tastefully. A thick carpet will limit the noises induced by pressing desires in the middle of the night and wake up the whole household.

What if you opted for an African decoration? Or would you prefer a Provençal style, a Japanese decoration, draperies, something more modern, design, Zen? Imagination and dreams have no boundaries. Why should the design and decoration of your bedroom have any? However, be sure to maintain a certain harmony in this room which, above all, must allow you to recuperate. You should therefore play with colours and shapes to create a harmonious whole to your taste. Without necessarily neglecting fantasy. Go on, have sweet dreams.
