Collecting, decorating or investing: See you in Luxembourg from 27 to 30 January for the 48th edition of theème edition of the Antiques and Contemporary Art Fair

Antiques & Art Fair Luxembourg will open its doors from 27 to 30 January 2023 at Luxexpo The Box.

On the occasion of this 48ème edition90 exhibitors have already announced themselves. Antique dealers, gallery owners and craftsmen will come from 7 countries.

"The Antiques & Art Fair is an essential meeting place to complete or embellish a collection, to surround yourself with quality furniture, paintings or objects, or to build up assets "says Jean-Pierre Defossé, the show's curator.

A historical asset of the Luxembourg fair is the variety of the offer. Both in terms of the nationalities and specialities of the exhibitors and in terms of the prices, which allow each visitor to find what he or she is looking for. The four pieces we are presenting below are a demonstration of this.

A drawing by Gaston Lagaffe by André Franquin, whose value is skyrocketing, and presented by the Manuscripta Gallery, will be next to a rare black lacquered flat desk with double-sided pedestals from the Louis XIV period. It is distinguished by its rich ornamentation in gilt bronze and its origin. This desk belonged to members of the Gage family, descendants of General Thomas Gage (1719-1787) commander-in-chief of the British forces in North America from 1763 to 1775. To be seen at the Lux Art Gallery stand.

In the showcase of the Edelstein Prüflabor jewellery store, collectors of Art Deco jewellery will be fascinated by a rare gold and platinum bracelet set with 165 diamonds, presented next to a majestic elephant head by the artists Bernard and Arnaud Bessous at the Boyrié gallery.

"In this kind of museum, where anything can be bought, you are guaranteed to fall in love. Acquisitions are made with a clear conscience because, let's remember, art and antiques are sustainable and responsible procurementsays Morgan Gromy, CEO of Luxexpo The Box.
