Interview : Meet Yann, our Head of Mortgage Brokers

Yann has been with atHomeFinance since the beginning. He has seen the company and the team grow. He started as a mortgage broker and is now Head of mortgage Brokers! Find out more about his role and the steps of the brokerage process at atHomeFinance.
- Moien! How are you?
Thank you, I am doing very well despite the year which is quite difficult because of the health crisis we are going through. But our results for the end of the year are very good, they are beyond our expectations. And we are going to start even stronger next year! - Can you tell us about your background in a few words?
Before coming to real estate brokerage, I was in the Luxembourg fund industry and then joined CACEIS as a Senior Project Analyst. I then became Head of Real Estate Brokerage in 2011. - So you, Yann, are not a broker. Explain your role to us!
Indeed, my role as a broker ended last summer and I am now Head of Mortgage Brokers. This development is a result of our company continuing to grow. We have recruited 11 new people this year so my role is to manage, develop and most importantly train our brokers on a solid foundation! - What do you like most about atHomeFinance?
The dynamism of the company and the interactions we can have with the atHome group in general, whether it be with atHome property or Luxauto. I also like the atmosphere in our team and the quality of work which makes us all happy to come to the office! - What was the most unusual meeting you had when you were still a broker?
I have two that stood out for me! The first was when a client wanted to finance some property in South America. When we started the process, she showed me the plans for the properties in question thanks to... drawings that she had made herself, which looked like something a child might have done! There was also a client who offered me a landscaping quote, for €250,000 for the lawn alone! I didn't dare take the file to the bank. - What is your greatest achievement at atHomeFinance?
It is to have been able to onboard 11 brokers at atHomeFinance this year and to see my team blossoming and happy to come to work every morning! - Explain the steps of the brokerage process at atHomeFinance.
This is done in three stages. First, the client explains his real estate project to us and then we will formulate several offers and define a financing plan. Then the client chooses the most suitable offer and atHomeFinance takes care of the rest! - If you had one piece of advice for people who want to take out a mortgage, what would it be?
It is to determine clearly what they want from their project and then contact us beforehand. This will allow us to define the maximum budget they can allocate to their project. We will then be able to reassure them and they will be able to look for their dream property on the market.
