Situated to the west of the capital, Strassen benefits from a privileged situation to develop well. It is a very dynamic municipality that has many assets to attract new residents.

Living in Strassen

One of the particularities of the municipality of Strassen is its cultural and linguistic diversity. Indeed, there are 115 nationalities in the municipality (6 out of 10 residents are foreigners).
Many of the new residents are moving to the city, attracted by the infrastructure and services offered by the city.

In terms of education, there are 45 classes for pre-school and primary school pupils. There is also a halfway house in the municipality, as well as several private and public crèches.

The inhabitants of Strassen also benefit from its direct proximity to the capital. Moreover, the city is well served by public transport and has easy access to the motorway network. Many bus lines of the city of Luxembourg run in Strassen, without forgetting the "Late Night Bus" which operates every Friday and Saturday night (a free service offered by the municipalities of Bertrange and Strassen). Finally, there are 4 Vel'oH! stations.

In terms of leisure activities, Strassen has many cultural and sports associations that cater for both juniors and seniors. The municipality has various sports facilities, notably in the field of archery and karate. As for the Paul Barblé cultural centre, it proposes multiple activities to the inhabitants.

There are also many shops, shopping centres (notably La Belle Etoile) and offices, particularly on the main roads, such as the route d'Arlon.

Real estate in Strassen

In terms of housing, the municipality reveals its weak point, that of being one of the most expensive municipalities in the country. Property prices are very high and have risen sharply in recent years. In spite of this, Strassen remains a very popular place for those who are looking for a home in the centre of the Grand Duchy.
