Increasingly present in the purchasing criteria of future owners, the parental suite is a private space intended for parents. Here are a few tips for creating a master suite in your home.

What is a master suite?

The master suite is a place that combines at least 3 functions: the bedroom, the bathroom and the bedroom. the dressing room. The minimum size for creating one is 14 m². Depending on the space available, it is possible to add a living room or an office area.

Partitions or not?

If the trend is towards open-plan living spaces, it is best to think about your living habits before making your choice. It can be quite unpleasant for the person who doesn't have to get up to hear the sounds of their partner getting ready in the morning. A running shower, a hairdryer and lights on will prevent the person still in bed from sleeping. Open spaces should therefore be avoided when the couple does not have the same rhythm.

Also remember to always ventilate your master suite well.

The dressing room Whether it is made to measure or bought in kit form, the dressing room must be functional. Open or with doors? That's up to you! However, if you opt for an open dressing room, order must be maintained at the risk of breaking the restful atmosphere of your parental suite.

Traffic Leave enough space between the different elements that make up your private sleeping area. You should be able to move around without bumping into furniture. So avoid overloading the room with decorative furniture.
