Outdoor decoration for zero euros (or almost)
With a small budget or a zero waste approach, here are our decorating ideas for a patio, a garden or a terrace with everyday objects that can be diverted for a bohemian or inebriated, but eco-friendly, outdoor look!
Wooden pallets, crates and logs
Natural or repainted, they can be used to make coffee tables, storage units or beds. Get your pallets! Fixed to the wall, you can hang plants and/or candle holders for a cosy atmosphere on the terrace. Better still, you can install a vertical vegetable garden and grow aromatic plants. Horizontally, the pallets can be transformed into a garden bed, provided a mattress is added for greater comfort! For the more do-it-yourselfers, consider building a swing! For a side table, use different sized logs and paint the ends for a more cheerful look! The crates, assembled and linked together, can be used for outdoor storage or as planters. It's up to you to imagine the graphic combinations to create your dream outdoor.
The fabrics
We all have old sheets, plaids or scarves! We put them together to create a temporary tent that will delight the children. Tie them together with a rubber band and hang them from a tree branch and they become a teepee. You can also use them to make cushion covers for garden chairs or armchairs. Mix and match the colours to create a beautiful, colourful outdoor scene!
Glass jars
Glass bottles, yoghurt pots or jugs ... recycled, they will make pretty vases for a country bouquet. Combined on a windowsill, they give an immediate country look to the house! With the help of tea lights, they can also be transformed into candle holders (preferably using glass yoghurt pots). Larger jars can be filled with water, citrus fruits, a few herbs and a mini candle to decorate the table and keep the mosquitoes away. Simple glass bottles hanging from a tree become beautiful soliflores and will provide the most bucolic look to your garden.
Take advantage of this time to evaluate the potential of your home's decoration, before throwing away an object that is considered to be worn out, imagine its usefulness once it has been diverted!
