If five-star establishments are not in your budget, or if you simply prefer to stay at home, there is nothing to stop you from recreating the atmosphere of a luxury hotel in your own home!

Here are some tips on how to turn your own home into a chic and romantic place.

1. Cleaning

Make sure your home is clean and tidy and invites you to relax.

2. The room

To give your bedroom a hotel room feel, pile several cushions on your bed. Choose fabrics such as silk or satin, which are more elegant.

3. The bathroom

Treat your bathroom like a spa, with thick white rolled towels, scented candles and bath oils.

4. The living room

As with your bed, layer cushions on your sofa, add plaids and a soft rug on the floor.

5. The dining room

Instead of eating in the kitchen or in front of the TV, set the table with special attention to the tableware and decoration.

6. Lighting

Introduce soft lighting with floor lamps or on tables, and don't forget candles. If you have a fireplace, light a fire.
