27% of dwellings are equipped with an alarm system

With the summer season upon us, the issue of burglary and home security is on everyone's mind.
According to a Statec study, 27% of Luxembourg homes are equipped with an alarm system and 57% with a door whose security has been reinforced, with an armoured door or a lock with multiple anchor points for example.
The method used to protect one's home depends on the type of home. Detached or semi-detached houses are more often equipped with both alarm systems and security doors than terraced houses and flats. Flats and studios are more likely to have no security measures at all than houses.
There is a link between household income and the presence of security features. Households with higher incomes live in better protected housing than households with lower incomes. However, it should be noted that there is a correlation between household income and the type of housing: high-income households live more often in houses, low-income households in flats or flats.
What are the property prices at the moment?
