Close to the capital, Strassen attracts many foreign residents, especially families. Very dynamic, the municipality has multiplied the services in order to favour their durable integration and their well-being, and this from the moment they settle. More than 500 new homes will be built in the coming years.

Located in the west of the capital, Strassen has taken full advantage of this privileged situation to develop well. In 1^er On 1 January 2010, the municipality had 7,418 inhabitants. In mid-July 2015, the population was 8,185. This population has different characteristics. There are many families in Strassen. Young couples with children now make up the majority of new residents. The infrastructures are up to their needs. Strassen has 31 classes in the basic school. The nursing home is also one of the largest in the country and offers a wide range of services. The municipality also has many private and public day care centres. And various activities, including summer activities during the school holidays, are organised throughout the year.

The area benefits from its proximity to the capital, good public transport links and easy access to the motorway network. Shops, shopping centres (La Belle Etoile) and offices are also numerous on the main roads, such as the Arlon road. Overall, 700 companies are located in Strassen.

There is also dynamism in the area of housing. Six new urban projects are currently being activated. This will result in the creation of 515 new dwellings, which means an expected increase in population of approximately 1,133 inhabitants (2.2 inhabitants per dwelling), in the next 5 years.
